Do you believe that you are haunted?
This may be; but let's remember that several things can happen in our daily lives which may seem like the spirit world and have you thinking Casper is living with you.
Houses do settle over time, resulting in strange noises. Plumbing can cause some ghostly sounds. The same can be said of the weather outside. Blowing wind through trees and parts of your home will make noises.
Furry creatures, such as mice, or other rodents can make strange and disturbing sounds in ceilings, walls and floors, etc.
Wild outside animals, car headlights hitting reflective objects... all can be mistaken as paranormal.
Our own minds can also play tricks on us. Over active imaginations, tired from a long day at work, medications, and stress are common causes for tricks of the mind, which may seem paranormal.
Most spirits are not dangerous. They usually just want people to know they are still here... Stuck, for some reason, in that place. Even newly built homes can have spirits because of the land they are built on and have nothing to do with the home itself.
Spirits were once living, mimicing in death who they were in life!!! If their lives were filled with anger ; so shall the afterlife... and vice-versa. Personalities tend to cross over with us.
Some hauntings are residual. Simply put, it is a replay of an event, over and over, like rewinding a video tape; and it happens at a certain time, day or other specific. The residual haunt, whatever it may be, does not know you are there and cannot communicate with you.
Traumatic events can leave a spirit attached to certain places. If you communicate with them and tell them that it's okay to move towards the light, they should move on. If you are comfortable with them, you can also tell them to stop the 'mischief' and that you don't like it. Remember you are the boss and it is your home. If this doesn't help, you can also have a 'smudging', or spirtual cleansing, done on your home. This should be done by a strong-minded person in a relaxed mental zone.
Cats and Dogs See Dead People
Yes, this is true. I've been told stories of dogs and cats seeing spirits. They have been known to track thin air and even growl at nothing. Just like younger children can see spirits. This is true, I have personal knowledge of this. An elderly neighbor died, approx. 87 years old. Following her death, her home changed hands a few times with renovations to match. The current owner's 3 year old daughter told her parents she talked to a woman named Sophia... and Sophia talked back. They were somewhat concerned and started to ask questions. The old lady lived in that house her whole life. Her parents built it and she died there. Her name??? Sophia! They asked us who Sophia was, and that's how the story started. How or why this happens to children and animals is unknown. Some say we lose our innocence as we get older and this is why we no longer see spirits. Maybe we close our minds eye to the real world and tend to discredit everything, becoming non-believers. Spirits are around us 24/7; most cannot see them, but they are here for us. This is where Angels and Guides come in.
